The project builds on a major data-collection effort to which I contributed as part of the ERC-funded Schoolpol Project team at the University of Oxford. This data includes original datasets that systematically code institutional reforms in education, with my conceptual and empirical contributions focusing on structures, teacher training and the curriculum. It also includes the Education Politics Dataset: the first systematic coding of the educational views of the main centre-left and centre-right parties in Western democracies.
In my work, I build on these data to analyse how partisanship interacts with professional interests and the changing institutional and political landscape to shape the structure and content of education systems.
