The Consequences of Privatisation and Funding Shortfalls for Education Support Personnel

This project investigates how privatisation and public funding shortfalls are threatening the conditions that allow education support workers to contribute to the realisation of universal, inclusive, quality education.

The project has received funding from Education International - the world's larges umbrella union for education professionals. It draws on interviews with policy makers, trade union representatives and education support personnel from around the world. It also uses visual ethnography to gain insight into the work and daily challenges of education support personnel. It has so far produced a global webinar for union organisers and a policy report for Education International.
